Beautiful Spring

A picture I took on my walk around
the Utah State Capitol last week
when the cherry trees were blossoming.

Spring Has Sprung On Temple Square

I spent a wonderful hour on Temple Square today taking pictures of the spring flowers with the new camera I received at Christmas.
The flowers are BEAUTIFUL.
Spring has come early to Utah this year.
Even some of the tulips are blooming this early.
I love this one. It's a small statue of Joseph Smith as if he's walking toward the temple. I thought to myself that he would be pleased to see what's become of the Church he founded.
Of course it's Christ's church. Joseph Smith was the prophet chosen by God to restore Christ's church to the earth in these latter days.
as the full name states.
The gardeners on Temple Square do a fabulous job.
And it seems they are always at it.
Today they were unwrapping  the ornamental grasses.
I love this one.
And the hyacinth fragrance was worth the trip.
So pretty.
Lots of daffodils.
Great color schemes.
The trees are beginning to bloom as well.
I love this with the reflection of the temple in the window.
The tree blossoms make a pretty frame.
There are always families taking pictures in front of the temple.
And there are so many great shots to choose from.
Like this one of the temple on a beautiful spring morning.
But tulips are my favorite.
And where there are tulips, there are always pansies.
Plenty of them.
Of all sizes and colors.
The blossoms are so great to look at.
No matter what stage they are at.
Like these blooming in my yard.
Or these from my yard
from the tree on the side of my house.
Flowers aren't the only thing on Temple Square.
 There are always sister missionaries.
This sister is from Norway. She and her companion and I had a great discussion about sharing the gospel and why we do it. I told them about my blog and asked if I could take their pictures. They told me only if I was in it. :)
We share the gospel because we love the Lord,
and we love His gospel of peace and joy.
And because we want to share that joy with others.

Happy Spring!

Some Pictures, Some Thoughts, And Some Dancing

Tonight's sunset was beautiful.
It always amazes me.
This is a picture of the missionaries in Seth's last area right before he got transferred. The missionary in the red chair opposite Seth also goes home when he does, but she goes home to Canada.
Now he's in a new area with a new companion.

This is what he said in his email home today:
" I am going to do my best to be as pure a missionary as I can during these [last] three months [of my mission]. I think that is something that will help lift the ward, and our investigators. I want to be completely obedient and to do more than just do what missionaries do. I want to think the way representatives of Christ should, and desire the things that true missionaries desire."

He makes me cry. I am so grateful he loves the Lord the way he does and so grateful he serves the way he does. May God bless him and his companion.

This is a picture of Sarah in her costume for a clogging performance with her team. They are all young mothers. They dressed up as grannies and choreographed a hilarious dance. It was really great. Poor Nathan didn't understand that his mom couldn't stop mid-dance to wave and say hello to him. Enjoy.

Missionary Joy

Seth only has three months left to serve on his mission. The time has flown by. His letters have been filled with a sincere desire to help people come to know Christ. It is evident from his letters that he has worked hard throughout his entire mission. This picture depicts what missionaries around the world do everyday. They teach those willing to listen about the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon is another witness of Jesus Christ. It is one of their foremost teaching tools. It is the word of God.
I love this picture of Seth with his companion and a woman who was baptized last week.
She asked Seth to baptize her. I love the picture of the Savior behind them in this photo. That's really what this is all about. Authorized ministers of the Lord teach others about Him. As they desire to follow Christ, that natural path leads them to the waters of baptism. It's as sweet as it can be.
Here are some of the sister missionaries who also helped this woman learn about Christ's true church. Their smiles tell it all.

This is how Seth ended his last email home last week: "I know that this is the Lord's work. I know that He lives and that He loves us!"

Well said Son.
I also know those things are true.

Here are a few other recent pictures:
Always, always, always with a smile on his face...
